have you tried using a plastic bags to weave a rug on your loom
My friend just gave me loads of bags last night to try it. I will keep you posted on how it goes!
I have watched your video several times on pinterest, but am confused. It looks like you are going going around the warping on the first row and through the warping on the next. Is that correct? Is that how you the off the starring edge. Which is different from the end of the rug which I do understand what you did.
Also, my grandfather used to make these all the time.I am excited to try to do them. My husband built me a look using your directions, but made it on a stand that piviots. So that I can stand, or sit to work on the rug also it will go strait up when not in use so it is easy to store.
Anyway I have a rug going, but am now afraid I have done it wrong since I went around the warping and not through.
Thank you
Here is a different video I did using tshirts that may show it better https://youtu.be/6KJ6_Zmux-I — this video uses rugs https://youtu.be/GvqnKL-XJ-U — one of them may have a better camera angle.
But, if you did not go through the warp by putting your fabric under each nail on the first row, you are still okay! My first rug I did that before I realized what a mess that would make. Just take a strip of fabric and go in and out of each each warp, sort of wrap the end of the rug. You can use a crochet hook to pull it through. That will lock the weaving in and keep it from sliding off. If you need, send me pictures and I can try to help explain it more. diyonthehouse@gmail.com
